Dimuel's 7th birthday party - Paint Party
How in the heck do you throw a party when you are on bed rest? With lots and lots of help, lol. So, I spent the last month on bed rest with pregnancy complications. You know that won't stop me from throwing a party. Dimuel turned 7 and I couldn't take him and his friends to Kings Dominion like I promised, so this party had to be GOOD. Paint and sip parties are all the rave with the adults so why not make it a kid theme?
I ordered some washable paint on Amazon and had the hubby pick up some canvases and brushes from A.C. Moore (with the 50% off coupons, of course). I turned to Oriental Trading for some aprons, plates and napkins. I also ordered some paint palettes to be used for the "build your own cupcake" activity.
After all of the children finished their paintings, they received a cupcake on a palette filled with sprinkles, candy, etc. I think this was their favorite part. They spent the remainder of the time decorating and eating the toppings.
I kept the food very simple since I couldn't cook. I had pizza delivered and threw some Capri Sun Waters in a cooler. I was very pleased with the outcome of this "lazy" party.
